1. Being afraid of gaining weight—yes you’ll gain some fat but the only way to gain muscle is to eat in a calorie surplus for an extended period of time. Don’t be afraid of gaining a little fat in the process. Aiming for 300-500 calories is plenty to minimize fat gain. 2. training too often—don’t follow the guys you see on social media who are on gear and enhanced. You’re not in the same game so don’t train like them. 3-4 weight training sessions a week is plenty to see progress. Remember you grow from recovery not from your time in the gym. So lift heavy, lift hard and focus on your recovery. 3. Sleep—my sleep routine hasn’t been great my whole life, I’ve lacked quality sleep and in turn it’s hindered my progress. Focus on creating a sleep routine that enables you to get 7-8 hours of quality sleep at least 5-6 days a week. Ideally every day but you shoud also focus on enjoying life at the same time. Switch your phone to night mode 2-3 hours before bed and try to limit screen time at least an hour before sleep. I’ve found podcasts to be super helpful at falling asleep lately. 4. Don’t compare yourself to others —focus on your progress week to week and don’t get caught up focusing on how jacked other people are on social media. This is your journey, track your weights and focus on making small wins week to week. 5. Stop program hopping. I struggled with this a lot when I first started. There’s so much conflicting knowledge on social media and I would always get caught up second guessing what I was doing so I would constantly change my plan every week. Pick a plan 3 day or 4 day and stick with it for at least 2-3 months before considering changing things up. Keep it simple and make progress on your lifts week to week. I promise you will see the most progress this week. 6. Doing too much volume. You only need 2-3 sets to failure maximum, focus on quality over quantity. I like to do 6-10 reps on most lifts and push myself to absolute failure for 2-3 sets on each lift. You will see the most progress this way. #fyp #Fitness #fitnessmotivation #gym #gymmotivation #levelup
