That man has had to live an entirely different lifestyle in order to remain sober, including giving up the friends and a lot of the people he knew before. Sucks he didn’t know his family were amongst those who don’t understand (or don’t care about) that part of his journey

As someone who is almost one year sober (12 days away from 1 year), I would flip out, throw hands & never speak to my family again. Being sober is hard enough, it’s even harder when people actively try to sabotage you or give you a hard time about being sober

I’m Jamaican and Black ✨. We have rum cake at a party but not for the kids. That was very intentional. If they knew he was sober there’s no way they should’ve allowed him to have that piece. They wanted him to fail.

That is SO disrespectful & my heart broke when he hugged himself/rubbing his arms. It angered me when the mom tried to feed that cake to him. They dont see it as a big deal but it's a very big deal to HIM & thats what should've mattered. Its okay if he doesnt want to consume alcohol
