I guess my take regarding this is, Some people WANT conversion therapy for religious reasons. Should we restrict those who seek it due to their religious beliefs, or should they be free to do as they please? Here’s the catch, should we FORCE this onto people? In my opinion, absolutely not. This should be a decision solely between the patient and the psychologist. I believe it should be left as an OPTION for people who want to do it, but provide safeguards in place so that no patient is being forced to do conversion therapy if they don’t want it. For example, if a patient’s parents are pushing it and forcing it because of THEIR own religious beliefs, not the beliefs of the patient, I believe there should be safeguards to protect against that. Minor children especially should never be forced into this treatment. 💯🤔

So gender affirming care bans for minors are just fine but when it comes to banning proven ineffective and harmful treatments (medical consensus) for non-consenting minors the federal government should step in and stop it. This is a double standard. Either allow all of it or let them ban it.
