It helps to remember that it’s a phase that’s short in the grand scheme of things. All that hard work is giving your baby a massive head start with custom-made nutrition and a stronger immune system, plus it’s amazing for their brain development and so much easier on their little tummies, which can mean a lot less gas and fussiness. It's a temporary sacrifice for a long-term benefit that you just can't get any other way

It’s every 3 hours but feels shorter than that because of having to bag the milk, clean the parts. It was such a hard thing but very rewarding. It does make things hard to do though 😭

I did not give it enough thought when I was pregnant. I was so unprepared for how much it would take out of me. It made the adjustment into motherhood so much harder. I think my postpartum experience would have been so much different if I would have formula fed. Don’t regret it, I just wasn’t prepared.

I decided to only do morning, afternoon, evening. Yes my supply suffers and we supplement formula - about 8 oz a day- but it’s helped my schedule and mental health a lot

With my first I exclusively pumped for 9 months. Now my second is 6 weeks and I'm exclusively breastfeeding and it's amazing! In the middle of the night I can just put her on, no fuss. Pumping was a nightmare! It's at least twice the trouble

I just hit a year of pumping and am still going a little longer because baby is having continued feeding challenges that are translating to solids. I’m tired. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done mentally. But I’m far too stubborn to stop.

If I didn’t have an excellent husband/father to our toddler I literally could not do it. I did formula with my first and regretted it and now with a NICU baby, pumping is all I care about 😩
