Two tiny lives, minutes from death, found warmth and safety just in time at Northern Colorado Wildlife Center! 💚🐿️ These two young sibling squirrels were found collapsed on the ground—cold, injured, and hypothermic. When they arrived, both were in shock, one had a bloody nose, and both were very dehydrated—clear signs that they had been away from their mother for some time. In such fragile states, it’s no stretch of the truth to say that by the time they were brought to our wildlife hospital by compassionate Good Samaritans, they were on death’s doorstep. Without immediate intervention, they likely only had minutes left to live. Our expert team jumped into action, providing hours of intensive critical care—care that required constant monitoring, specialized warming, hydration therapy, and medications. Our staff and volunteers didn’t leave their sides until both were stable, warm, and breathing normally on their own again. Now, just days later, these two are alert, bright-eyed, and showing off their feisty personalities—saying “thank you” in their own wonderfully grumpy, squirrelly way. 💚 They’re continuing to stabilize under our care while receiving courses of antibiotics and light pain management medication to aid in their recovery. These siblings will remain in our care as they continue to heal and grow stronger each day until they’re ready for the next steps of rehabilitation—and eventually, release back into the wild where they belong. Stories like this remind us why we do what we do—and that every moment, every life, and every act of compassion matters. If you’d like to help more wildlife patients like these two siblings, you can make a gift here: https://northerncoloradowildlifecenter-bloom.kindful.com/?campaign=1236629 Or mail/drop off your donation to: Northern Colorado Wildlife Center 2637 Midpoint Drive, Suite E Fort Collins, CO 80525 . . #WildlifeRehabilitation #SquirrelRescue #FoxSquirrel #ColoradoWildlife #WildlifeRescue
