This is amazing and I wish it was true but we also know that el sent him to the upside down which made the same portal we see in season 1 which was the first portal so 001 had just went to the upside and was becoming Vecna but I might be wrong

No disrespect to you great theory but I do believe later in the season we do see a demogorgon straight up drag a body towards itself using telekinesis and i don’t believe the story was fully developed yet at the time season 1 was released yk ? Like they didn’t even know they were gonna introduce vecna yet at all.

It was a demogorgon in the road, however I do believe that it was doing Vecnas bidding and it was vecna that undid the lock. Also, when will was in the upside down with the thing over his mouth, that is the stuff that sticks into vecnas back in season 4, vecna needed him alive so he could be the spy. Where as Barb was not needed so the toxic air 💀 her. Plus, vecna needed Barb dead to get to nancy in season 4. If Barb survived he would have no route to Nancy
