People saying he isn't Geordie because he's lost his accent after playing an American character for almost a decade, considering he's the most famous person to come from there 😂

he's not even Geordie at this point. My grandad was born and raised in Blyth and the accent he had compared to Charlie's Americanised one is crazy

No one drinks Brown Ale in Newcastle anymore. It’s just a brand at this stage. It’s not even made here anymore.

What the hell did he even say at the start. I from northeast and work with a full te of geordies and have no idea what he said before ‘aye course I have I’ve had some brown ales’

People losing their accent isn’t being “snobby” it’s just how life works. Anyone saying otherwise is a miserable sod. Anyone who was born in Newcastle and lived in Newcastle is welcome no matter what they sound like/used to sound like.

We’re not geordies for King George! It’s after the lads in the mines used the “Geordie Lamp”

Imagine people criticising him cos he played american characters and moved from newcastle so he is going to lose his accent. Look at milly bobby brown…. Her british accent has an american twang to it now

I’m not bashing him, but I don’t think that’s why we’re called Geordies 🤔

It was a very popular drink during the day's of heavy industry. Rubbish! It wasn't just linked to places such as Byker, Walker Wallsend etc. To be classed as a Geordie you had to be born a few miles in sight of the Tyne. Scotswood Road is also a well known landmark West of the City. The brewery was also situated just off Elswick . I can remember the smell of the hops when they were brewing Brown Ale. My father drank it and It was much darker in colour than it is today - it is in no way the brew it was. There was another ale they made: Amber Ale, and this was a lighter colour than Brown Ale - the same label in design but it was in blue. It is sad that brewery was sold and the true recipe with it.

Yep, remember him being on Byker Grove. My Grandad grew up in the slum houses on the banks of the tyne in Gateshead. My old man was a Geordie but lost his accent the moment he was issued his RAF mustache

Not keen on his American twang. He should keep his own accent and be proud 🤨
