I think this conversation would be enhanced by Rosa Luxemburg's Reform or Revolution. Her thesis was: reformists (DSA) need to work within systems to make it easier for revolutionaries to replace systems. And If you're in the comments agreeing with the take that revolution is the only way but also think unions and worker Cooperatives are revolutionary then this is required reading for you.

We don’t win by separating ourselves from other worker movements even if they are reactionary in nature we win by unifying them under a the banner of socialism. DSA are not dems they are naive but mostly well intentioned and we should be joining community with them to drag them over to communism, not letting them be the end of the pipeline for liberals. Compare DSA now to 10 years ago, they’ve gotten way more radical and the ML caucus is the fastest growing.
