@theorlandoreal: Brightline just marked two years of service between Miami and Orlando, with over 3.1 million riders so far. 🚄 Now talks are heating up about extending the line to Tampa, giving travelers another way to skip I-4 and still make it to a Bucs game or a weekend getaway. Average fares hover around $71, and despite a few challenges, more Floridians are hopping on board. Would you use it this service from Orlando to Tampa? Link in bio for the full video.
It’s too expensive when compared to comparable trains in other countries

It’s $70 each way. If it was $70 for round trip it would be awesome. For two people it’s $280 back and forth from Orlando to Miami. For that I just drive or rent a car and go.

Yes it’s worth not having to do the long drive, but the cost just doesn’t justify it. Plus having to take a rideshare or some shuttle service from MCO to Disney or Universal and that’s at least $60 round trip from MCO

I won't use it because once I get to Orlando I'm still going to have to pay way more $ to go anywhere else. There's no cheap/efficient mass transit in Orlando.

looked into it last year when my friends and I went to the Eras Tour in Miami...but for the group it was just cheaper overall to drive from Orlando and get a hotel in Miami for the night

Price needs to at least be cut in half

I love Brightline! Living in Orlando and since its start, I have not driven to West Palm, Ft Lauderdale, or Miami. I will NEVER drive to south FL again. The fairs are reasonable and I take advantage of its special. Orlando I-4 to Tampa, Fucking INSAIN! I dread the sometimes 3 hour drive! Brightline to Tampa would be heaven sent!

The fares for all routes shot up as soon as the line to Orlando opened up. What used to be $20 round trip to Miami + $7 all day parking turned into $100 round trip to Miami. It used to be convenient for sports (Inter Miami, Marlins, Heat) but not anymore

When I was in Ireland this summer I was able to take a 2 1/2 hour train ride of the same quality as brightline for $30 per person. Brightline is trying to function as a utilitarian service but at luxury prices

People love to complain about I-4 traffic here but then it takes a generation to get an alternative to I-4. I’ve heard plenty of people say they would take the train instead to Disney if it existed. This should be a no-brainer when I-4 backups everyday. We need to expand our transportation alternatives in Orlando to help deal with the traffic, light rail or metro should be considered also.

If the Jaguars play in Orlando, they should make it extend to Jacksonville.

I used to travel Orlando to WPB once a month for past 2 years. It’s too expensive, so only took twice. Nice experience but they need resident rates. Charge the tourists who will still use it and then resident rates will increase us locals using it.

The price makes sense if you’re going alone as it’s roughly the cost of gas but if you’re in a group it makes more sense for most people to drive

It’s expensive, a flight costs like $50 one way where bright line is between $80-$100 one way

It is very expensive, for example given the daytime whatever obviously no flights are can change but a flight on spirit can be cheap as $30 one way. The cheapest ticket on Brightline is roughly $55 that I got because I just happened to buy it when it was on sale and I was facing the wrong way the whole time.

How do they maintain the time it takes to get from Orlando to Miami when they keep adding stations in between they skip some of the stations on some of the runs

It needs to be way cheaper and way more local. I’d love to take it from Disney to downtown, or to winter park.

People would use it if it wasn’t approximately $300 round-trip
