Are you not eating enough to get ripped? Pre requisites to "cutting" First you need something to cut from. Can't sculpt a pebble. Cardio is a tool Fasting is a tool Calories are a tool. ..but you won't lose bodyfat if your calories are already low and Cardio is high. Why? Metabolic Adaptation. So guess what, now you have a new baseline. So if last year your deficit was 1500 cals when you were losing weight. Soon enough it will become your maintenance. This is why prolonged dieting is the recipe for disaster. You need to give yourself time away from a deficit. You need to get bsck to appropriate maintenance calories. For a 200lb Dad that should fall around 2300-2800 calories. Cardio should also be minimized. So how much time do I need away from dieting? I can't really answer that. But roughly the more time you have spend "dieting" the longer you will need to stay away from "dieting". If you've been on a diet for a year....you may need a full year not dieting for your metabolism to recover. This is why I recommend at least a month off of dieting for every 3 or 4 months of dieting. Give your body an opportunity to Normalize at the new weight. Establish homeostasis. Let your metabolism recover. Than run it again. Drop 20lbs..stabilize that new weight. Drop 15lbs..stabilize the new weight again. This is how you make fat loss permanent. Moral of the story... You need something to cut from. Eating 1k calories per day will never be the answer. Play the long game. It's a more sustainable approach. Prolonged dieting is miserable. You want to lose fat....not your mind. Lfg Coach Ryan
