We’ve been in the thick of all things neurodiversity for three years now… which feels like such a short and long time, all at once. What started as seeking help for Genny’s communication turned into learning about myself and my children more than I could’ve imagined. It’s been a lot to unpack as a twenty-something mom, figuring out I’m neurodiverse and what that means for me. Slowly unmasking and realizing how much I’ve pushed down over the years. Trying to balance embracing myself while still being the person I’ve always been expected to be… THIS is why I fight so hard for my kids. THIS is why I’m so vocal about my belief and support of neurodiversity affirming practices, parenting and providers. Because I don’t want my kids to grow up feeling like they need to hide who they are. I want them to feel everything and grow from it, not be ashamed. We won’t be the family with kids sitting quietly at the dinner table because bodies were made to move. You’ll always find playdoh and fidgets in my purse and diaper bag. We don’t limit screen time or foods. We accept 💗🌈♾️ #autismacceptance #neurodiversity
