When non-Muslims accepted Islam during the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, they weren’t shamed or reminded of their past. Instead, they were welcomed with open hearts, supported, and guided so they could grow in faith and character. Today, we should show the same mercy and wisdom toward those who find the truth after a life of mistakes like Nouray (formerly known as Lil Rae Black). No one is defined by their past once they turn sincerely toward Allah. The Prophet ﷺ himself forgave those who had fought against him, even the man who killed his beloved uncle Hamza (RA). So who are we to judge someone who’s seeking forgiveness and change? Let’s encourage, uplift, and motivate , not humiliate. Because Islam is not about reminding people of who they were; it’s about helping them become who they can be. May Allah strengthen her, forgive us all, and make our hearts soft toward those walking the path of repentance.
