I cut my own hair now and it’s healthier and when I tell myself I want “just a trim” - 3 inches doesn’t magically just come off like with hairstylists.

I was in the beauty industry in the past. They removed other professionals from the pool as well (so much mean girl behavior). I also do most services myself because the prices and behavior from those left is crazy!

haha i have been getting hair cuts/dyed,blow dry $300-400 every 3-6 months. now nada. natural hair may be tripped when needed.

they are calling it luxury and say "if you dont like it then dont get it" and then get mad when their chair is empty or we learn how to do it ourselves, make it affordable, and have more customers than them

I agree but I also think they’ll just have to work a bit harder wirh building trust with clients. I’ve noticed the amazing ones don’t have a hard time finding clients because they’re good at what they do and ppl have nothing but good things to say about them

It’s being in decline for a long time. My experiences have been so terrible that since 2015 I learned how to do my eyebrows myself and nails myself. As it right now, the hair industry pissed me off so much the last time I went, that I learn how to cut and died my own hair. I literally do everything myself now.

I only ever go to my auntie because the price stays the same and sometimes she’ll even give me a discount if it’s like, my bday or smth. I’ve been going to her for years and few times I’ve gone to someone else I’ve paid more and hated the style so I’ve learned to never switch up 😩

Yeah my stylist ignored my texts to rebook so honestly to save money and time I just went a basic color with someone else and been letting my hair heal.
