@therealsuspect: Well, I am 9 days away from my first court appearance. I have quite the todo list today, starting with meeting up with my lawyer at 9. After that, I have to find a good pair of dress shoes, and also go get this mess on my head shaped into something resembling a haircut. Another thing in the list is self testing at the facility to show I’ve stoppped drinking completely and I am going to have to start doing that every other day or so to make that clear and apparent. I have been sober completely since Sept 5th at 1159pm, the day I was locked up. I am happy to report this, and the feelings of health coming back over the last month have been amazing. I have made many major changes in my life in the span of a month, not just for myself but for others around me. Sometimes, we don’t see how our habits affect those around us. I’m not doing this for me, I’m doing this for everyone. I’ve drank heavily since I lost my mom in the Covid days, and it was basically the downward spiral to losing my family, my marriage, my kids, basically my whole life. Being clear headed this last month has made me see and realize a lot of things that I’ve let slip away and while many of them, such as my kids wanting nothing to do with me and my ex also wanting nothing with me cannot be undone, or may take long amounts of time to heal, that just isn’t the focus right now. All I can do is focus on myself, do better for myself and others around me. And try to take life one day at a time. The biggest thing I have to say about all of this is that I just wish I would have seen it sooner, that I would have wanted to make the change BEFORE I lost EVERYTHING and EVERYONE in my life that I cared about. #onedayatatime #dobetter #itsnevertoolatetochange #focus #bestrong
