The indgenous were never peaceful, no one was. History is never black and white. I hope native americans and self hating hispanics (who claim their indigenous roots, yet deny their Spanish heritage) hear this out. Indigenous not only fought europeans but they fought amongst themselves. Both sides displayed savagery it is our Histroy whether you like it or not

As an American indigenous. Who cares, it’s in the past, people who stay in the past are weak, like most of my people who drink, do 💊💉 and just basically cry, cry and cry about the past. While yes there is generational trauma passed down, in the end it’s YOU who makes the decision to whether let that trauma shape you or not. “people who stay in the past are weak, people who are in the present are average and people who look towards the future are strong”

The problem is that all tribes were made out to be hostile when not all of them were—keep in mind, the puritans (first european settlement in the Americas) only survived their first harsh northern winters BECAUSE THE NATIVES HELPED THEM. they saved them. They taught them how to survive and provided resources. It was wrong to kill off, mistreat, and subjugate all natives—many were peaceful, well intentioned, and good people too. We should have lived alongside and worked with the ones that were willing to, and defended ourselves against simply other people that wanted to kill us. It sucks that it ever became a matter of race.
