(ad) Spend the day at Cragside with Us 🚌 We travelled by bus (X14 from Morpeth which took 40 minutes). You can also catch this bus from Newcastle if more convenient. It pulls right into the visitor entrance. If you travel by bus across the summer hols you get 25% off admission (non-members) or a 10% discount voucher for food and drinks to use on the day (members). T&Cs apply. Liberty 471 also stops at Cragside. 🦟 We walked up to the playground via Slipper Lake. It's beautiful and we spotted dragon flies, newts and water boatmen 🛝 My kids are too old for the park now but the playground at Cragside is lovely. There are loos and a takeaway hut plus plenty of seating. We grabbed a coffee/cake and enjoyed it overlooking Nelly's Moss Lake. V peaceful 🏋️ There is a trim trail which is great for older kids and adults to challenge each other. We had such a good laugh. 🧭 Then into the Labyrinth which is the kids' favourite part of Cragside. You climb up rocks, walk along beans and genuinely feel like you are going around in circles until you find the centre and then have to do it all again to find your way out. Expect lots of twists and turns - perfect for adventurous families. We spotted a toadstool and hundreds of baby frogs in here today. 🪨 We then climbed down the steps which are cut into the boulders / rocky terrain down to the house and found some secret caves which were pretty cool 🥣 We made use of our voucher and stopped at the tea room for lunch. Really delicious cheese scones and roasted tomato soup 🕷️ The Critters Trail which runs through Cragside House is fab and you learn lots of bug-related facts. Just ask for a trail board when you enter the house. We enjoyed finding all of the bugs and also discovered that Cragside has a spa! How fancy. 🌸 We had racked up 17k steps by this point but had a little saunter through the rock gardens to the iron bridge before catching the bus home. What a day of adventures. Cragside really is like a fairytale ❤️ This isn't featured in the video but I also highly recommend the Formal Gardens and Gorge Walk too. Both offer absolutely stunning scenery. #cragside #northeastfamilyfun
