This movie made me realize, those “gifts” were literally curses, I know someone already said this- but, there’s a twist. My theory is: mirabel didn’t get a gift, because she was the only one who could break the curse.

I didn’t even realize that. Taking a second look at the movie it’s clear that they did try to get through to Abuela. And a sad part is it took Mirabel almost dying to save a candle that she cared about deeply

I’ve ALWAYS hated Abuela and idgaf about what anyone says. She boxed all of them up, outcasted Mirabel, AND it took Mirabel to almost die for her to realize. I hated that Mirabel forgave her so easy. That’s what I hate about Disney movies, they’re way too forgiving.

As much as I sort of understand because she watched her husband die it still doesn’t give her the right to be that bad of a mother and grade I really wish Mirabel didn’t forgive her as in she understood what she went through, but tells her what she did was still wrong and doesn’t forgive her, but still let her try be better
