Those who know me know i’m constantly battling with loving my hair. I always loved my afro but I tended to rely on it to make me feel beautiful. I kept letting it dictate how good I felt about my appearance, if I had a bad hair day I felt ugly. I also felt like my hair was holding a lot of weight(trauma) from the past that I couldn’t carry anymore so a fresh start was all I could think about for months. I continued to let outside opinions and my own self image stop me from doing what I felt I needed in this chapter of my life for so long. After grounding and going through the motions most have when making a big decision like this I cut if off(again) and I haven’t felt more confident and beautiful in my body. Hair grows back and it doesn’t define our beauty! So to anybody struggling with making a decision that you know will be best for you, stop thinking and act no matter what it is, big or small. Do what’s best for you and fuck what anybody has to say and thank you to everyone that helped me find myself again🫶🏽 #bigchop #fyp #explore #afro
