Meals in a bag relieve financial AND mental burden from families who are currently struggling. If you want to create your own meals in a bag, here are my two recipe ideas and shoutout to @Dollar Tree Dinners for the I dea. (1) 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐩 ½ lb bow tie pasta (about half a box) 1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed ½–¾ seasoning packet (Italian, vegetable, or soup mix) 1 chicken bouillon cube (add a second if you prefer stronger flavor) 8 cups water (or adjust for desired brothiness) Instructions Make the Broth: Boil 8 cups of water, add 1 bouillon cube and ½ seasoning packet, stir to dissolve. Taste and add more if needed. Add Tomatoes & Chickpeas: Stir in diced tomatoes (with juices) and chickpeas. Simmer 5 minutes. Cook the Pasta: Add bow tie pasta and cook 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste & Adjust: Add salt, pepper, olive oil, or herbs if desired. Serve & Enjoy: Ladle into bowls and top with Parmesan, red pepper flakes, or parsley. (2) 𝐯𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢 2 cans triple bean blend (15 oz each)

1 chili seasoning packet Cooking instructions (for bag label): 1. Pour all contents into a medium pot. 2. Add 1½ to 2 cups water. 3. Stir, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. 4. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. 5. Taste and adjust consistency — simmer longer for thicker chili or add a splash more water if needed. 6. Optional: Add cheese or sour cream on top.
