I noticed that also. As a diabetic, I know to always clean the area before doing any kind of puncture. People not cleaning are most likely ones experiencing site reactions.

My husband is a pharmacist and I make him do my injections for me because he’s trained to give injections and I’m afraid of needles. (I don’t have the auto injector pens.) He always always uses an alcohol wipe to clean the area first. It’s never a good idea to poke anything into your skin without cleaning it first.

it sould never be assumed that a patient knows to clean the area of the injection site. I work in healthcare so I knew about it but my doctor educated me about it.

I asked my pharmacist and she said it is ok to without an alcohol pad first. She said if the area is clean it is fine. I had the same question. Someone I know has been taking the same way since July and is fine. To each their own
