was litrally given 60 cent shampoo...almost never and conditioner. always had dry frizzy hair. wasn't until a few years ago I leaned i had a curl to my hair and how to control it.

Also hair changes during puberty, I had bone straight hair until around 13-14 when my hair changed to wavy.

My mom always said my unbrushed hair looked like a rats nest. But dry brushed it would just be poofy and frizzy. Now as an adult, I never dry brush and she compliments my hair as being really pretty the way I "curl" it. Like its my natural hair! I had ringlets as a toddler and now its wavy in parts and loose ringlets in others but she only saw a rats nest growing up. I'm sure it would be way more on the ringlets side if I did an actual curly hair routine.

My mom had pin straight hair. She didn’t even have to brush it for it to look nice. 😒 Then she had two daughters with curly hair…she used to beat us because she thought we weren’t brushing our hair when in reality we were, brushing it made it bushy and frizzy 😒

my mom cut my hair off bc she didn't want to deal with it. I'm 40 now and I'm just starting to learn how to embrace my natural hair instead of just straightening it all the time

my mom's hair is pin straight. my dad's hair is very curly. I have something in between. my dad doesn't know how to take care of his hair. how would I learn how to do mine?

My mom has very straight hair, my dad was in the army so he also always has an high and tight, my brother has my moms hair, and my sister has a different hair type and curl pattern then me so I just am doing my best with what I have available to me

My partner argued with me when I told him he has curly hair. he insisted he has wavy hair. I pointed out the fact he has ringlets after washing means it's curly. I had to explain that wavy hair doesn't form ringlets, it's CURLS. I have curly hair.

I had curly hair my mom didn't. she would straighten my hair, fill it with hairspray and hair gel, and pin it back so tight- it would fall out; because she didn't want it to be curly. to this day, she gets upset that I don't straighten my hair; because "it would look so much prettier that way". I've always hated the straight hair

my mom and both sisters had pin straight hair......my dad had 3b hair but kept it so short you'd never know, I take after him and felt like I had to straighten my hair every day! I appreciate you for educating us all on how to take care of our hair!! all the love in the world for what you do!

my mom didn't teach me anything about my hair, make up none of that. I feel so weird trying to figure it out at almost 40. my hair isn't really curly (even though it's not straight either) so damn frizzy and thick!! I usually just put it in a bun and call it a day 🤦

I knew I had curly hair. I just didn’t know it was really curly. I thought my sister had more curly hair than I did and then I started taking care of my curls when I was in my 20s my late 20s mind you and now I do take care of them and I look more like my sister lol

I will also say this I didn’t start getting curly hair until after my 20s I’m in my 50s now. My hair was stick straight and then I had one little bump on the back of my head and now it’s just straight up wavy. I don’t know… I didn’t grow up with curly hair.
