Keep an eye out for UTI as well , they can really cause a lot of well beyond the urinary tract in older individuals. I’m sorry your family is going through so much

As a memory care nurse who deals with this daily, find a support group now. Talk to people who know what you're going through. Educate the kids in words they will understand but don't go into tons of details. It will help when things progress.

My dad had lewey body dem. It's quite different from Alzheimer's...more frontal lobe... personality changes. Be on the look out for obsessive behaviors, very common (sexual, gambling, spending). Also never let them give him anti-psychotics...makes lewey body worse. Many caregivers don't know the difference in the two diagnoses. My thoughts are with you while you navigate this, it's very stressful

❤️❤️❤ I'm so sad to hear this. My mom had early onset and in the beginning they also thought it was depression. It's tough for kids to watch, mine were small and I had to let my mom go into a facility because she was becoming very fearful and aggressive.

I’m so sorry to hear this, my mom had regular dementia and that was hard enough to deal with. I’ll keep you in my prayers. I recently found that I had Parkinson’s so I can kind of relate to what your husband‘s going through. You might see your town or city or county whatever offers any respite programs. I found an adult daycare if you will or I could leave my mom for a few hours or the day once or twice a week. It was nice to have that option, even though I didn’t use it as much as I could have. Also make sure you look into any programs that they might offer for dementia.

The moment you said she didn't think it was Alzheimer's I knew. my grandpa had LBD, and my grandma had been overcompensating for him so we didn't know how bad it was until she got too sick to care for either of them. I'm so sorry you're experiencing this. Sending love and strength ❤

LBD is a hard diagnosis. Definitely look into meds for it because there are some promising ones to slow the progression. It's also possible it's a different diagnosis (friend's dad was initially diagnosed with LBD but it was revised to parkinson's). Regardless, I'm sorry
