These women have all been targeted, harassed, followed, and threatened, just for being elite athletes. This isn’t "overenthusiastic fan behavior." It’s a crime. It's harassment. And it’s happening far more often than people realise. 1 in 6 women will experience stalking in their lifetime. Female athletes, especially those in the spotlight, are even more at risk. Sport is about passion, connection and admiration but there’s a line. No athlete should have to move homes, hire security, or miss competitions to stay safe. No one should have to experience what Raducanu did. This is an issue that needs to be addressed, by governing bodies, event organisers and society as a whole. Because safety should never be the price of success.
