No be like this them dey calculate tax now. If you earn 100k/m which means you earn 1.2m/y. You minus 800k non taxable income. You are left with 400k. Out of the 400k, you are allowed to deduct some other money from it, like rent which is 500k max, Health insurance etc. so at the end of the day, you will not pay anything.

You are yet to deduct the allowance not taxable. in the case of the 100k monthly, the person is entitled to 800k allowance that's not taxable and rent allowance of up to 500k which means the person might not pay tax at all. please get the new tax and study very well

Under the new tax reform law in Nigeria people earning 100k/month are likely to be exempt from PAYE.100k/month = 1,200,000/year.The new law exempts incomes up to about 1,300,000/year from PAYE. Also, it said that over 90% (≈ 98%) of Nigerians will be fully exempt or pay much lower tax under the reform. So the annual tax for someone earning 100k/month will be 0, assuming 100k/month was their only income and there are no other special taxable allowances or income sources.
