You said it's a Navigator but you said it's an 8 speed in the comment? So, I'm guessing its a Cosair? Aviator and Navigator both have 10 speeds.

Most likely the EGR sensor. Have seen that on several different models. Basically it’s the EGR valve opening when it should not be opening.

had a fusion come in once never set any codes I thought it was a trans issue turned out to be sparkplugs it felt like trans and wouldn't do it all the time but I noticed if I stopped at the bottom of a hill and started going up it would shimmy on gradual acceleration never throwed a code didn't show misfire on scanner

I had a low mileage yukon same thing. Moisture in the transmission . serviced the transmission all was good

Live data command tcc off and drive it it went away it the converter I’ve done a bunch in that model range nautilus

entirely different model of vehicle, but my 2021 Equinox did something similar, and they ended up replacing the module for the transmission, something about an internal short

I would use a scan tool and monitor tcc slip speed while its commanding thr tcc on . if u see spikes over 50rpm id say u have a tcc issue and your on the right track

Lincoln Corsair Right not Navigator - some of these transmissions had issues with the front clutch pack assembly depending on the transmission

Check coils/plugs we had a truck we thought it was transmission and it was the coils, no lights or anything
