Let’s all be for real the ending shouldn’t of been the ending. Lily said that this love was different because it is. I always took the show as that Ted was in love with love and looking for it everywhere but he never truly felt it untill he met tracy. Barney was the opposite someone who avoided love having never felt it, someone who thought of it as a sickness and infection. until he got infected with robin. He liked nora sure he liked quinn but he never truly loved them. why? because robin was his tracy. He even states multiple times that robin is his soulmate because she is. To robin ted was the perfect guy as someone who hated the idea of settling down she thought that if she had to settle down she should atleast do it with someone who’s perfect like ted. She stringed him along for years but in truth they were better off platonic. Her and barney were real and harsh and scary and it was obvious that she would of rather gone off facing a half love who wasn’t dangerous rather than facing one that was true which we can see from when she was with kevin. BARNEY AND ROBIN & TED AND TRACY. anyone who disagrees is pure wrong
