It’s because the electronic passport machines only work sometimes…no one chooses that long line, we get booted over there when the machine decides today is not your day. The rule at Lisbon is to give yourself an hour for passport control.

Don’t use the electric passport line. If you have children, you must see an agent. I tried it. I just got back last week and I was turned away to go through the regular passport control.

We went to the all passports line after electronic passports line did not move for a good 5 minutes… the all passports line had someone directing everyone and they had 8 border control agents, it moved super quick 🤷🏻♂

Is there a electronic passport line when arriving into Lisbon? The last time we were there (Oct 2024), it took me over an hour to get out of the airport using the all passport line, causing me to miss my cab reservation. At that time, I was not aware of the electronic passport line.
