For similar reasons, we know Paul Revere did not shout to the New England countryside “The British are coming”, as that wouldn’t have clarified anything. I was already worried that this movie would muddle anachronistic post-revolution sentiments and misconceptions with actually history and that line inflamed my worries. I can’t find that quote anywhere (not saying it 100% doesn’t exist but I certainly can’t find it).
