The question is: what wasn’t better in the 90s? 😂😭

Pressed By A Savage Nails :
Not too much on the Press Ons. If you don't prep your natural nail correctly they absolutely will pop off but it's not always the quality of the nails.

lol in the 90s highly toxic products were used and now we use more safe products...if your nails pop off now it's because they were not prepared properly

It’s because nobody sculpts anymore. Try and find a tech who can freehand a pink and white.

in the late 90's us poor folks who couldn't afford fills had to wait till the nails grew nearly completely out because we couldn't get them off. The last time I had my nails done I lost 3 in one week

I litterally argued with a tech because doing it properly takes too long

coz back then most salons used MMA based monomer. most salons now use EMA monomer. I believe the USA and some other countries have banned MMA monomer. here in the UK it's still in use in a lot of salons that are run by certain types of "techs". they get their MMA monomer dirt cheap. like they can get a gallon of stuff for like £50. it's designed to be used in dentistry to build vaneers. not to build artificial nails. that stuff stinks. it takes a lifetime to remove. and if you catch your finger and you lose a nail you might as well chop your finger off coz that will hurt so much less. unfortunately this is one of the driving forces of very low charging in the UK. many people would rather pay next to nothing for poor quality work with poor quality ingredients rather than pay for high quality products and high quality work. I personally use EMA monomer. I have many years of experience. whilst I don't recommend going more than 3 weeks between services because my main priority is the health of the natural nail and that needs regular maintenance, I know my clients can go 4, 5 and 6 weeks without nails coming off, breaking, cracking or chipping. some of whom are prolific nail biters and pickers. if you know your products, understand the chemistry, prep the nails correctly and provide your clients with the education for proper after care then there should be no reason why nail enhancements can't last.
