@300700.collection: In 1996, Liverpool famously arrived at Wembley to face Manchester United in the F.A. Cup final wearing custom-made cream Giorgio Armani suits. The suits, coordinated with pale blue shirts, red-and-white striped ties and white shoes, were the result of a partnership initiated through goalkeeper David James, as he had recently began modelling for Armani. Armani’s team reportedly visited Liverpool’s training ground for fittings, but the players were not made aware of the colour choice until they opened the suit bags on the morning of the final.
