Call your pharmacy, and ask them if they can send your prescription to the closest Walmart pharmacy and if you have any refills and you’re available to fill it, go ahead works every time

this happened to me and i only realized sitting in the airport lounge before a 15 hour flight to hawaii… luckily cvs lets you transfer prescriptions easily

If Walgreens has your script you can transfer it and if it can't be filled yet you can request an emergency vile. most insurance and/or the pharmacy will allow 1 emergency vile of insulin periodically (don't remember the amount of time frame between allowing emergencies) had to do it once not from traveling but accidentally dropped and managed to break my last vile for the month. and was told you can do the same if you forgot it in the car (exposed to heat today long so expired the insulin)

Yes, absolutely call your primary care provider or whoever is over seeing your diabetes management and even if it’s after hours, they’ll be an on-call doctor that they can prescribe and send it to a 24 hour pharmacy near you or within driving distance!

Walmart, you can get fast acting insulin without prescription for $35 per vial and 5 pens for $46. you can also get a meter and 50 strips for under $25

it was a nightmare for me when my son broke his last vial of insulin by accident ....took 3 DAYS to get an emergency refill luckily he had his pump on his and I had his old long term in the fridge but it was very close to panic
