my son told me he wanted to learn how to play yu-gi-oh and I told him thats fine I can buy us a couple precon decks.. didn't recognize half the cards.. looked up the how to play guide and was like... "Son how about I teach you Magic? It's somehow alot less complicated."

I would give anything for an official "legacy" Yu-Gi-Oh format that doesn't have anything after GX. The game was so fun back then, now it's just 15+ minute turns setting up an otk. How fun!

I recently brought my old exodia deck into a modern game. still won. Hard to lose when you just prevent your enemy from attacking while simultaneously drawing like 5 cards per turn

as someone who's played yugioh for most of her life, it's unfortunate that casual yugioh is practically non-existent (outside of with a friend group) however, most people expecting to play one monster, set two and pass have never played yugioh outside of the playground. The game has never been like that and while there are numerous issues in even the current justice hunters format (despite how healthy it started) there's wayyyy less otk/ftks and a lot more interaction (I mean just look at tearlament mirror matches with how much interaction both players have on turn 1)

How to play fairly for people who are trying to let there friends back into the game slowly. Do Not. Activate your full potential combo only do the beginning parts, as they probably can't fight back otherwise.

Ah geez is right. I remember when all you had to worry about was ritual summons and tribute summons lol. Now you got XYZ summons, fusions, synchros, pendulums, links, and I'm sure I've missed a few more
