I felt the same i had 2 dogs both have passed now but after the first dog died I couldnt connect with the other at all and this may sound bad but I loved the other dog more since I spent so many years begging for a dog which is a long story but to this day I feel guilty I didnt spend as much time with the second dog as I could have when I had the chance all because I couldnt feel that bond between us grief is honestly such a strange thing and hard to navigate but just keep ypu head forward and take each day once at a time wishing you the best

she knows bc my baby passed away that i had since i was 5 and my other dog slept with me for a bit after. he sleeps with my brother but knew she slept with me and i think her scent also brought him comfort. she’s the lighter one and he’s the darker one.
