My guy is 6 months now. We have been consistently bell training and he’s still having accidents, sometimes he poops at the door and THEN rings the bell. I don’t know what we are doing wrong but I’m feeling really defeated

I taught mine to ring the bell in a day or two. Now she can let me know when she wants to go outside. She’ll either go to the bathroom or to bark at the mailman or grab a rock or a plant. 🤣

I’m gonna do this for my fiancé. My dog just taps me with his paw and I already know he has to use the bathroom, but my fiancé is a truck driver and is gone most of the week, and he’s still not aware of certain behaviors my dog does that I can tell what they are. Thanks for sharing this!

My Frenchie does great with the potty bell! But it did take about 4 months of consistency and a lot of patience with accidents.

we did that with ours. we started with bells that hung from the door handle and then transitioned to a ding bell like at a hotel because we can hear that from anywhere in the house. he now uses that bell to tell us when he isn't getting enough attention, so I think we are going to start also using buttons to tell us what he wants, i.e. light, play, food, etc. he is ridiculously smart.

Mines just goes and she goes in the same spot and I would clean it make sure I clean her scent and she goes in a different spot and she don’t have the same schedule everyday some days she won’t go for hours she has a water fountain and she still only pee like 3 times a day a poop twice sometime only once and she never tell me she has to go
