Just remember, unless you’re an arcane trickster, it isn’t invisible.

I once had a wizard that lost a hand in a freak fireball accident as a kid. worked it out with the DM that he would use mage hands as his actual hand. As such, he could permanently have mage hand up so long as it was attached to his wrist and functioned the way a biological hand would, anything else would require casting the cantrip. But he would still use the cantrip for just about anything that required using hands and didn't require a STR check. Opening chests in a dungeon? he stands 30 ft away and mage hands the lock in case it's a mimic. Spot a trap? Mage hand the trigger from a safe distance. One time he passed an intimidation check by bitch slapping the BBEG during his monologue from across the room.

I’ve used mage hand to give hand signals around corners, stop vases from falling and shattering when a ranger critters failed a stealth check to alleviate noise, and pull the “take my hand away handshake” with a little kid

same concept as tapping the shoulder but knocking over a lamp across the room during a tense moment and allowed us to take the surprise round with everyone looking away

speaking of spells you should have, please explain to me why my party's level 7 wizard DOESN'T have counter spell but I, the WARLOCK, do. I have 2 spell slots and I'm the only one with CS 😭

Mage Hand can be used to effectively fly. A Gnome can weigh around 30ish lbs. Enlarge/Reduce can shrink you and reduces you to 1/8th your weight, putting you at around 4lbs. Mage Hand can now carry the Tiny Gnome

Yo, holding a shield up to protect a vulnerable target as they move away from archers goes crazy. Great idea.

Ive started to reframe my idea of what a “Level 1” character is. Because you know what? If you gave a commoner a mage hand they would not understand how to use it. Level 1 is still a trained professional, just someone who hasn’t dipped more than a toe into their craft

• Trigger tripwires, pressure plates, and other such traps while the party safely stands 29 feet away
• While it can't activate magic items, non-mages probably won't know that - roll a CHA skill to convince an enemy to give up info, or be blasted by a Mage Hand holding a wand of fireballs
• Sitting on the couch and don't want to get up? Use Mage Hand to grab you an ale (and use Prestidigitation to make it a cold drink 😉)
• Getting freaky in one of the inn's upstairs rooms? An extra hand can do wonders in the control of a creative mind!
