I was an allergy kid! Dairy, beef, gelatin. Make sure she grows up learning to speak for herself when she’s capable. I have had so many instance growing up and even now where I’m offered stuff and even though it may come off as rude to ask what’s in it or saying no that should always come first. Many people forget you have the allergy when it’s not them living with it!

We bring our inglesina high chair with us everywhere! Lalo just came out with one too. Then you dont have to stress about the high chairs as much 💕

my son is anaphylactic to eggs, wheat, dairy, soy and nuts! The constant thought of what could be contaminated is always there and also my husband and I have had to be so diligent about our own hand washing after we eat before touching him!

my daughter is also allergic to dairy and eggs, people don’t get the stress that comes with managing this when it comes to going out to eat 🫠 i’m always the only one thinking ahead of time what she can eat there or if I have to pack food

I’m anxious for you! I’m lucky that neither of my kids were allergy kiddos. I have a shellfish allergy, but that’s really easy to avoid compared to dairy and eggs!

You are so brave and doing a VERY good job. Especially at keeping it real and trying to stay somewhat “relaxed.” I’ve said it before - I wish I had you 8 years ago when my allergy mom journey began. ❤

I’m allergic to tree nuts and peanuts and I’m constantly wiping everything down. Bc kids snack in grocery carts all the time or target carts. And I’m always freaked I’m going to touch almond butter or something and have a reaction alone. I totally understand!

Such a good thing to share! Going to try and make sure we are allergy aware as our son gets older even if he doesn’t have any allergies!

I’ve never subscribed to the newer sticky paper /disposable placemats until my LO became anaphylactic. Those plus chair covers may be something I finally buy 4kids in!!! 💕

The minute you said “we grab a high chair” my brain went: that’s contaminated. I nannied for a boy with allergies. I had him at the pool at 7months when he had his first ever reaction. It’s scary.

You know what, this was SO educational. I have two son who aren’t anaphylactic but we use high chairs. I usually wipe down the chair beforehand & always thought the restaurant wiped them afterwards. But from now on, I will wipe afterwards as well. Thank you for making me a better mom and community member!

It’s so hard, my daughter is 15 now but toddlerhood was really hard. She’s allergic to eggs, all nuts and milk. Teaching her to wipe down surfaces starts now because she will have to do it on her own soon. Back the. I did the initial wipe and then when I knew it was safe I had her do it. My best advice is get her and you in therapy when appropriate. It’s difficult to manage physically but so much more mentally. Anxiety is so natural for both the parent and child especially when epi pens don’t always stop anaphylaxis.
