I have ulcerative colitis and it was a bit of a process to cover my biologic med. I had to try infusion meds first which didn’t help and then they covered it. But I have an amazing GI doc that fought for me. But everyone responds differently. Good luck!!

Hey being diagnosed with the same. I have a couple of suggestions you could try if you want. they helped me.
You could try removing Sugar from your daily intake. That will clear up the internal inflammation.
Have your doctor prescribe Methocarbamol (prescription muscle relaxer) for the muscle spasms. That does not make you tired.
*Please note it's okay to enjoy a sugar treat a few times throughout the year. Just don't make a habit out of it. You seriously won't miss it.

My teenage son is on Remicade which is a biologic & our insurance approved it quickly & with no issues. He will be switching soon because it’s not working very well now. 😞

I have moderate Crohn’s disease. They would not approve my biologics until I failed 2 regular medications (budesonide, immuran). I hope they can help you feel better!

Sorry, I don't mean to overstep, this is the 1st time I've seen your videos but I just wanted to say that I have been on Librax for a couple years now. It only makes you sleepy the 1st couple of times you take it because it has a very small dose of a benzo in it, but the sleepiness/tiredness will go away. For the most part, I only take it as needed but if things are bad, I take 2 pills 2-3 times a day around the clock & it really does help. (That's per my GI's instructions too) She did have to send in a PA for it & I THINK it took about a month for it to be approved because it is so expensive, but they did approve it. Hope this helps!

The meds are biologics! I’ve had to try 4 before finding one that has helped a lot. I was diagnosed with Crohns in 2021. I recommend joining groups on FB so you can ask questions and have a group of people who understand what you’re going through. You got this. 💪🏼

I don't know your story but please make sure the doctors are very sure it's Crohn's before they start biologics. I hear it's very hard to diagnose correctly. They diagnosed my dad with Crohn's (or so they thought) via pill cam and calprotectin levels, etc. and put him on humira. He ended up getting an infection because it's an immunosuppressant. Long story short, many biopsies/pathology results later and they can't seem to find any Crohn's so he was misdiagnosed and put on a drug that didn't help at all. Not trying to scare you but no one deserves to be misdiagnosed!

My husband is on skyrizi and was giving the tip to apply to their parent company for “financial aid” he applied and was given the medication for one year for free. I believe they don’t even ask for income, or despite our income level they still awarded it.
