I saw this from the beginning. Greg Popovich the king of simple and fundamentals never having an issue with Wemby pulling fades, contested shots, crazy acrobatic stuff? what if that was the plan from the beginning. let wemby experiment, let them lose, let him see what he can do, what hes good at, what hes comfortable with, and slowly make him take better shots? that kills 2 birds with one stone, he develops as a player AND the spurs lose. guaranteeing them lottery picks. infact i know they wanted to take because when the spurs started getting competitive his rookie year, all of a sudden Wemby is on a minutes restriction for an ankle that was fine, playing 24mins per game to limit his impact even when he was just out there trying shit. now the spurs have the benifits of thay lottery. Castle, Harper, they had the assets to get Fox. this was all calculated

All that Hakeem and KG training this summer is showing. He’s less afraid to body up in the paint and he’s not getting bogged down as much. He relied on skill and craftiness before because he didn’t have the strength to go at nba defenses, but now he can get those easier shots AND has the counters if he gets shut off. Every “weird” choice the last two seasons has been practice reps to build him into a do-everything freak of nature. Can’t wait for the season
