@keepyourcadence: Episode 02: The Material Problem After finally making it to our manufacturing partners in Shenzhen, we got straight to work on our holiday collection. The goal: create a cruelty-free, veggie leather Parcel Collection. We came to explore what cutting-edge materials existed and quickly learned that most “veggie leathers” are often virgin plastic with texture on top – the highest percentage we found was 25% bio materials. A sexy name without the substance does not fit within what we stand for – especially if there is beautiful, higher percentage recycled content material we can bring to life. So, with our partners, we began developing a completely new material. Now comes the hard part: figuring out if it can actually work within our Parcel’s welded structure. We don’t know if it will but that’s part of the process. Stay tuned for Episode 03 to see where we land.
