@davidrising66: 🧠🚶‍♂️💭 FREEZING OF GAIT 💭🚶‍♂️🧠 There’s a moment that many people with Parkinson’s know all too well… You’re walking along just fine — and then suddenly, it’s like your feet are glued to the floor. 🧊 You want to move, your brain is shouting “GO!” — but your body just won’t cooperate. 😔 This is called Freezing of Gait — and it’s one of the most frustrating and misunderstood symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. 💔 It’s not weakness or laziness… it’s the brain’s wiring being interrupted, as dopamine levels drop and the communication between the brain and muscles becomes distorted. ⚡️ Imagine your brain as a radio trying to send a signal to your feet 🎙️👣 — but the connection keeps cutting out. Static. Silence. Nothing. That’s what freezing feels like. Sometimes it lasts a second, sometimes longer. It can happen when turning, approaching a doorway, or even just starting to walk again after stopping. 🚪⏸️ Many of us develop tricks to “break” the freeze — like shifting weight side to side, counting steps, humming a rhythm, or stepping over imaginary lines on the floor. 🎵➡️ These small cues can help re-establish that connection, even for just a moment. But let’s be real — it’s scary. 😞 It can make people afraid of falling, afraid of leaving the house, or embarrassed in public. But there’s no shame in it. 💪 Every time we stand back up, take a step forward, and refuse to give up — that’s strength. ❤️ So if you see someone stop suddenly while walking, don’t rush them. Don’t stare.
