@jay_morgan16x: If I had $1 for every time someone told me I could work if I just pushed through my disabilities, I'd be too wealthy to qualify for DSP
you say that but it doesn't seem to interrupt your posting schedule

DSP money isn't that bad. Lots of people get by. You're ok, tattoos are expensive.

A bunch of disabled people on welfare who've been refused DSP can't push through too.
We just have to keep going back to our GP every 3 months and get a zero capacity medical cert.
I'm incredibly lucky that my GP bulk bills.

I pushed through for 20 years and all that achieved was my disabilities getting worse, me ending up in hospital and now I really can’t work.

Does DSP stand for Disability Support Pension?

I'm on DSP and the only thing I can do is volunteer work because my condition is so unpredictable. I've had to go on leave for the last 6 months from that due to disability 🙃

Someone yesterday said to me, "I know you have your problems, but we need to put them aside".

Those of us stuck on Jobseeker also can't just push through, Centrelink has made it so hard to get DSP that a lot of us are too sick to to apply or don't have the money to get the reports we need to apply 🫠

I pushed through and then after years of that and deteriorating over those years, my body finally gave up, crashed and burned in every way possible and it was dramatic. I learnt that lesson the hard way

I did push through, until I couldn't. If you think people haven't tried, before having to accept they can't, you have no idea how bad things can get

The stigma is horrible! I’ve been sick for years and wanting to apply for 5 years! Finally submitted yesterday 🖤

the amount of people who think the dsp is easy to live on and like a large amount of money...no rentals are in our range amd we are the last to be chosen if they were, they say they could live on ot easily until they find out the actual cost and add the therapies and medical care we need...

I’ve had to push through a 12 week placement and it’s been detrimental to my health. I couldn’t do this long term

My husband has 9 root nerves damage - bone on bone , he can not sit down for long , he can not stand up for long, he can not walk for long. He is in constant pain . He refuses to take strong pain killers so he has pushed through for 25 years and he has caused himself so much damage. So what can he do , he is still not on any disability payments but maybe next year we can get this payment.

“Pushing through” anything lands me in bed for a week. The choice to push through is taken from you. What do people not get about that? It is not a matter of willpower
