I blocked so many people after my mom died. If I could live without her, I could live without them!

“We didn’t know what to say” so instead you said nothing?!

What about the person you comforted you even came to the funeral but they still ignored you? You even sent a text, but they didn’t reply. What do you call those people??

"you didn't want to talk and pushed everyone and we didn't know what to text" it was the lowest point of my life and you chose to do or say nothing.

I ended a 20 year friendship after my mom’s death. It showed me who really cared for me.

Death will show you who people really are, but more importantly, death will show you what you can withstand. Speaking from experience.

I lost my job, my grandma, and my dog in 6 months of each other. I texted my best friend and said I was losing my identity.. crumbling to the ground. She responded that she couldn’t relate to me, then put her phone on do not disturb. I blocked her on everything.

Yes. People waited a month and said I wanted to give you time. Time for what?? Time so I could be functioning normally again and you didn’t hve to deal with the awkwardness

I have learned that during the hardest times the people we believe are going to be there, are not. And then the people we can’t even imagine are the ones that reach out. Twice I have experience this.

Those people haven’t experienced loss. There is a grief club- once you are in it- you are in it. Those who haven’t experienced can’t understand.

2 years later and I’ve lost so many friends because ‘I’m not over it yet’ … yeah sorry I’m not over my dad dying randomly.

My son was stillborn and 90% of my mom’s family didn’t even text me to say they were sorry. And I told them all when I was pregnant before sharing it on socials. They were butthurt I didn’t tell them personally…while I was trying to stay alive myself….

People act like your loss is contagious. I lost so many "friends" when all I needed was love.

Sadly we live in a very grief illiterate society and I have found people are just so self-absorbed

I lost probably 95% of my close friends after my daughter passed away. The things I experienced during THE worst time of my life is so heartbreaking I can’t even talk about it still 🥺 it seems so crazy right? That having the biggest loss of your life also meant losing people who meant the world to you too 😩 absolutely unfair

“ I don’t know how to talk to you now” oh ok! Or how after the first couple weeks not a soul checks on you again and it’s just gotten harder to cope with as more time passes 😅 I talk to very few people now.
