Fun fact: in the movie Requiem for a Dream, there’s a scene where Ellen Burstyn’s character is in the kitchen crying and telling her son that she’s old and alone – then the camera starts shaking bc the camera operator and crew were all crying with her. She was also robbed of an Oscar that year!

I love this dialogue but I really judge the mom for shaming her son so hard when she forced her daughter to go to the party in the first place just to guilt trip him, IMO the mom is at fault too.

I feel like I'm missing such a big layer to this movie (I have rly delayed processing & often have to watch a movie more than 3x to understand what others comprehend watching once or twice) bc it only gets positive commentary--but him just randomly being the reason she was decapitated, then a bunch of satanic stuff happens......and that's just kind of it?
