@straitstimes: Mr Ryan Lim, 32, has autism and does not speak. How does he tell his parents when he's in pain? When he began experiencing more meltdowns, up to 4 times a day, his family’s search for answers led them to Dr Chen Shiling, a physician who treats patients with special needs. Her diagnosis that Mr Lim had irritable bowel syndrome was a life-changing moment for him and his family. Part 2 #autism #autismawareness #IBS #health #Singapore #StraitsTimes
There's a special place in heaven for the parents & caregivers of special needs people 🥹

Problem is when professional disregard your concerns. My son is 11 non verbal autistic and has been banging his head against the wall for 5 years and no one ever listened to me until this year. We still trying to work out why but I have more people on board

same issue with my autistic son. it took 5 clinics visit until the last doctor realize what is the problem. it was hard to diagnose because he is non verbal and does not understand words to express his discomfort and symptoms. the doc only could depend on my explanations of the signs. it was pneumonia and took almost 10 days to diagnose. also when he have toothache it took 7 days to diagnose and at first I thought he is having earache. 😢

We must always look at the GUT FIRST. So many ppl with developmental delays suffer poor gut health. Parents and care givers tend to give all foods to keep ppl happy and it can end up doing the exact opposite. GUT HEALTH FIRST. ♥

Now this is awesome and a wholesome video. Patients dealing Autisms and Meltdowns should always have their loved ones be by their side at all times. Family strength is the most essential for the latter❤️❤️🫶🫶
