First used mine the other day. I think the clean design is fantastic but the first clean does not clean it. Plus it still smelled of onions. I decided to let it stand in water after the self clean for a few hours and then used the self cleaning with just water. Finally no smell of onions

Make sure you run it several times to remove the soap… not for me, I’ll take a normal pan instead…
