unless I grossly misunderstood his 30 minute video on the subject, all of the music in the soundtrack for ROR 2, maybe not the DLCS, is made with synths. They just emulate the sound of traditional instruments like guitars because it was cool. but I recommend checking out his YouTube channel for more information on how he made the music.
