This is where the neglected come. The unwanted come. The injured and crippled come. The old come. The wild, the abandoned, the orphan foals whose moms shipped to slaughter. This is WHY she ended up here. Abandoned. Forgotten about. Left to fend for herself until she was so crippled her owners figured “let’s sell her to the slaughter barn they’ll buy her regardless — at least we will make some money off of her.” It’s sickening. THIS is another reason why I’m glad I show up. Horses like her that would NEVER be seen. Instead they’d load her onto a semi truck as fast as she was unloaded and she would suffer for 17-20 hours in horrible pain all the way down into Mexico to be horrifically killed for her meat. Her life dragged along with no one even caring about anything other than to make sure she stays breathing so they can make money off her meat. SICKENING. THIS IS WHY SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE. My plan for her: to send her to Pete Mays to get X-rays to see if we can help her, the same way we have helped Lady who we rescued in July at the auction whose hooves were almost as bad. If we can’t, at least we know we tried. At least she was seen, cared about, and given the shot that was taken from her because of human negligence. CAN YOU HELP ME DO THAT FOR HER? 📌 TOTAL TO RAISE: $5000- I want to be very clear, if she ends up not being fixable or her quality of life will not be able to be achieved we will use the remaining funds to go towards other rescues we are working on
