Presentation on the survival of wild tigers in South Korea at the UN Nature Conference. Major research achievements: Since the liberation of South Korea in 1994, he has personally tracked tiger footprints and other traces in the wild, presented at UN conferences, and analyzed the possibility of wild tigers in Korea. He has also shared and systematized related data with international academic societies. As president of the Korea Tiger Protection Association, he leads tiger conservation and research organizations and has spearheaded the development of tiger habitat maps and monitoring of habitat changes. He has appeared in major TV documentaries, interviewed numerous domestic and international media outlets, including the BBC, CNN, The New York Times, National Geographic, KBS, MBC, and SBS, and presented on the survival of Korean tigers at the UN-hosted Tumen River Nature International Academic Forum, hosted by the Korea Tiger Protection Association and hosted by Lim Soon-nam, President of the Association. Expanded social consensus on wild tigers in Korea. Conducted practical research and social action, such as conservation projects with participation of local residents, policy advice for tiger protection, and campaign planning. Also promoted biological research, such as analysis of tiger genetic identity, ecological characteristics, and food web. Representative achievements: Discovered numerous tiger traces for the first time in Korea. Reported to international academic society, contributed the collected results to natural ecological research in Korea. Proposed policies for coexistence of tigers and humans, established a foundation for cooperation with local communities. Contributed to spreading public awareness through documentary KBS Sunday Special "Track! Korean Tigers", "Tigers are Disappearing" special, and citizen lectures. A pioneering researcher who transformed the debate on the existence of Korean tigers into a social topic by turning it into scientific data.
