The point of all this to me is that shes giving Spencer the time, love and attention any child should have. Just because his abilities are different does not mean hes not worthy of the effort. Laura and Spencer are AMAZING!

A BAD stim are the ones you don’t allow him to do and all the ones you described in your past videos. You have said many times he does not have the mental capacity to know what things are. Ask him the value of a five dollar bill, ask him to make change from $10 if the total is eight dollars. Ask him to go pick something out that’s only five dollars. All he knows is that if he puts money on a table, he gets what he wants that isn’t learning that’s just repetitiveness

Jesus, he's not a vegetable. he has the words inside, just can't get them out like we can. he deserves everything anyone else does.

In this day it’s astonishing to me that people just lack this level of understanding. Maybe I was more exposed than most to the spectrum through family members with mild autism to profound, but I’ve seen people in the wild frequently using different types of communication. Sign language, boards with pictures at the grocery store, tablets or even a laptop speaking for them a few times. I swear some people act like disabled or people with challenges should just be locked away and left without even attempting to learn things. Spencer may never be able to be independent, but he deserves to learn life skills whether he makes use of them or not. To me it seems he’s learning money pretty damn well as per your videos. He’s learning safe ways to express himself like the shredded paper tent, the options on his communication device, the options with photos so he can tell you what foods he wants, knowing what items from the store he needs everyday and how many are logical to purchase at one time. He is learning these skills and he is using them at home and probably out places. Him learning these things likely reduces meltdowns because he is being understood on his level. This is great for his mental health and wellbeing. This is improving quality of life and every single person on this earth is entitled to quality of life.

How crazy! When do we stop trying to teach or learn? What a ridiculous statement! I’m 63 years old & still learning & hope I have the capacity to continue to learn. And yes there may even be things I will never grasp, but I’m not going to stop learning. I just can’t deal with these closed minded people.

Ohh this are the things that make my red living source boil!! They do communicate, sometimes if you have the ability to understand, they communicate better than "normal" people. The point is: they deserve the best education we can provide, as any human does. Being different, doesn't determine what you should or shouldn't learn. Bet someone gave up on her education, it shows in her comment. Keep educating!!
