Sounding a lot like the Thum from Skyrim... not that Bethesda would ever borrow lore.

That sounds a lot like the modern day meta-magic. True naming has always been a fascinating concept to me and to see it contextualized in this sense makes it so much cooler. i also love the concept it brings about, how our words have so much power and meaning behind them, and to use them carelessly would be a terrible thing to the world. In a way, it reminds me of tolkien lore, where even the smallest of creatures can have the biggest of impacts.

You got any sources for this? A quick search turned up nothing more than a very short article in the planescape wiki

considering the average US celebrity meets the requirements to accent to godhood in DnD, leveraging the powers that bind the universe together to drop a god isn't that surprising

Had to remind myself halfway through this that Primeval and Primordial are two different things.

Would Ao have access to the Language Primeval? He's the God of Gods and such. How would remain powerful enough to dictate rules to the gods and be above them?

Huh. I wonder if the Song of Creation has anything to do with the Primeval language? I hadn't made that connection until you mentioned literally speaking something into existence. I wonder if the College of Creation tapped into that power on accident or something.

This kinda reminds me of crystal Spears in spelljammer. Massive crystals that have engravings in them, if you read off it, doesn't even matter if you cant use magic, it will cast a spell that puts most mages to shame.

Isent Planescape a different setting than FR? Ik they have a lot related tho. And are you guessing the lady of pain can use it cause of her ability to keep the gods out of sigil?
